Sarah’s Crafty 8th Birthday Party
January 12, 2018
Sarah is turning eight! To celebrate such a momentous occasion and such a special girl, we had a crafting party. Sarah loves to craft. When she gets home, the first thing she does is run up to her desk and make something. She is really good at it, too! I’ll have to post some of her creations some time.
Once we knew what we were going to do, I knew exactly who to call. A party like this could be done by none other than the amazing Meri Cherry, the arts and crafts expert. She’s incredible and we’re very lucky to have her within arm’s reach. For this particular afternoon, she came up with the idea to make doll houses out of foam core poster board, swatches of fabric and various knick knacks. She sent her assistant to do the party, as she does not do parties herself anymore. Her assistant was awesome!
I served the foods kids like: pigs in a blanket, cheese pizza, fruit salad, popcorn, lemonade, cupcakes. Each little girl went home with a Teeny Ty stackable plush, a Jolly Rancher flavored lip gloss and a couple of erasers.
Happy 8th Birthday, Sarah! You are loved beyond words. Thank you for making every day of the last 8 years special.
Tables, chairs, balloons and lots of tassel garlands. Tassel garlands look fun and easy, but it takes about 30-45 minutes to assemble each strand. Give yourself some time. I loved the way the balloon bouquets turned out. Confetti balloons, metallic hearts and lots of color made them look very full. These tissue paper flowers hung from the trees for added festivity. I’m a strong believer decorations should be abundant. Make it magical! These paper flowers were my favorite. So cute!
Yay! I loved the way the lunch table turned out. Lemonade, fruit salad, popcorn, pigs in a blanket and the piece de resistance: a three tiered cupcake tower! I love these little watermelon napkins, rainbow paper cups and scalloped unicorn plates by Meri Meri. These pink and white striped treat boxes were perfect for popcorn. I love the Meri Meri cupcake toppers. The party gifts. Each Meri Meri bag had a jolly rancher lip gloss, two erasers and a Ty stackable beanie baby. So much concentration!
Meri Cherry’s assistant had such a great way with the kids! Ta da! Those smiles say it all, don’t they?
